Today, Friday March 16, is World Sleep Day. Apart from making us all miss our beds, this day calls attention to the important issues surrounding sleep health.
It is estimated that 1.5 million (8.9%) of Australians suffer from sleep apnoea, insomnia or restless legs syndrome1.
The World Sleep Day Committee of the World Sleep Society therefore created this annual event to lessen the burden of sleep problems on society.
When diagnosing and managing patients who suffer from sleep health problems, it is vital that the most accurate tests are utilised.
There are two main tests available, overnight (in-lab) or home sleep studies.
